CDC Spreading Discredited Anti-Vax Misinformation, Kennedy’s Legal War

This week, the CDC updated its vaccine safety page to include several debunked claims linking vaccines to autism. Despite RFK Jr. saying during his Senate confirmation hearings that he would “work within the current vaccine approval and safety monitoring systems” and “maintain the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices without changes,” the Department of Health and Human Services has made a swift and dangerous anti-scientific shift.
Dr. David Gorski, an AJI Scientific Advisory Board member, oncologist, and managing editor of the blog Science-Based Medicine told Important Context that the CDC “is now aligned with three decades of anti-vaccine narrative designed to cast doubt on the strong scientific consensus that infant and childhood immunization do not detectably increase the risk of autism, no matter how many large, well-designed studies fail to find a link.”
